Tompkins, Betty
Born 1945. Tompkins is an American artist and arts educator. Alongside artists such as Carolee Schneemann, Yoko Ono, Lynda Benglis and Judy Chicago, Tompkins has been a pioneer of Feminist art. Tompkins is listed in The Brooklyn Museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art's Feminist Art Base. Tompkins' works are in the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, Ohio, Paterson Museum, New Jersey and the Museum of the City of New York.
