Bando, Masaru

Born 1952, Japan. Known for his monumental sculptures, Bando is an internationally renowned artist with studios in Japan and New York. He received the International Premio Rome Award in 1979. His work begins with the study of life models and centers around the human condition and its expression. His work is included in several public and private collections, such as Obihiro Centennial City Museum, Hokkaido, Japan, the Olympic Open-Air Sculpture Park, Korea, Nihon Sports Court, INC., Tokyo, Japan and Gran Arts, Tokyo, Japan.
