Atwood, Jeff

Born in 1957, died 2018. Jeff Atwood studied architecture at The University of Virginia and in 1998 he moved to New York, working for architects like Francoise Bollack and Rafael Vinoli Architects. Amongst his many architectural achievements, Atwood also worked on the renovation of the Morgan Library in 2006. In 2007 he began studying printmaking with Bill Behnken and Richard Pantell at The Art Students League of New York. His printmaking concentrated on capturing the complex architecture of New York City in bold and provocative images which often bridge the gap between realism and abstraction. The etchings explore vantage points with dramatic perspectives that frame, distort, and layer.
