Emma Amos

Born 1938. Emma Amos began painting and drawing at age 6, when she was living in Atlanta, Georgia. As an emerging artist in New York City in the ’60s, Emma was the only female artist invited to join Spiral, a collective of African-American artists. Emma joined Robert Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop Inc. Amos work is included in the permanent collections of MoMA, British Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Franklin Furnace, Schomburg Collection, Whitney Museum of American Art, the Ford Foundation Collection, among others. Kathy collaborated with Amos as master printer and plate maker from 1973 to 2009.
